Darts fast start
The Darts started the game with freshman Chloe Peery making two layups and the Darts would roll from that point. The Lakers stayed close in the first quarter thanks to three made three-point baskets. The first quarter ended with the Darts leading 12-10.
The second quarter saw the Dart’s super senior Kendra Kitchen open up on offense by making tough shots in the paint. The Lakers continued to try and stay close with two more three-point shots falling. The Darts’ backcourt of T’Maea Eteuati and Peery applied pressure and caused multiple Laker turnovers. The half ended with the Darts leading 28-19
Darts second-half surge
The third quarter was all Darts, and the defense held the Lakers to one point. The only point was a free throw by junior Analeise Marahaj. Marahaj finished the night with a team-leading 9 points for the Lakers.
The Darts pulled away in the fourth quarter led by Kitchen and Aryanna Bull dominating the inside with scoring and rebounding. Kitchen finished the night with a game-high 25 points and Bull added 9 points for the Darts. The Dart’s smothering defense held the Laker’s leading scorer senior Haille Cherry to only 4 points in the game.
The Lakers were led by senior Libby Jensen scoring nine points. The Laker’s record stands at 3-5 and they next face another region 1 team the Weber Warriors on December 20.
The Darts will look to stay undefeated, as they travel to a tough 5-1 Mountain Ridge Sentinels team on December 20.
