Last week in Region 10 went exactly as predicted. Park City hosted and beat Jordan, Stansbury hosted and routed Hillcrest, and Murray hosted, but lost to Tooele. Cottonwood had the non-region game this week and ended up losing to Uintah.
Cottonwood vs. Uintah (7-37)
The Cottonwood Colts traveled to play the Uintah Utes, and it did not go well in the 37-7 loss. They had some good plays and gained a lot of yardage, but turnovers and their inept ball movement in the red zone killed the game for them.
The Colts gained 367 total yards and one touchdown through the air. They threw two interceptions, and even took a Safety in the first quarter. Defensively, they recovered one fumble, but were otherwise pretty quiet.
Overall, the Colts have not had any luck at all this season, and don’t seem to be improving. They traveled to play Hillcrest last night and this time were on the winning end of a 37-7 score.
Park City vs. Jordan (35-0)
The Park City Miners welcomed the Jordan Beetdiggers into the Skiing Capital of the World and sent them home dazed. The game was a 35-0 shutout, it was not a signature Miner win, and the stats tell the whole story as to why.
The Miners netted just 292 yards over the contest, which is much less than their average of 400 yards per game. They threw one interception, and that was their only turnover of the night.
Defensively, Park City had only43 tackles, meaning they stopped the Beetdiggers from advancing the ball almost entirely. They added three interceptions on the night, which was key in bringing home the win.
Jordan, now 2-5, are struggling to find their footing, but will go into this week with a game against the Mountain View Bruins from Region 8. They’ll go head to head on today at 7 p.m.
Park City improves to 8-0 on the season, and are looking unstoppable going into the final two weeks of the regular season. In their next game, they’ll travel to play Tooele today at 7 p.m.

Tooele vs. Murray (49-14)
The Tooele Buffaloes have had some serious swagger the last couple of weeks, and brought it with them to their game against the Murray Spartans last Friday in the 49-14 win. This game has a similar story to many, but is no less impressive than any other. The amount of yardage in this game was unreal.
The Buffaloes went absolutely crazy Friday night, throwing the ball four total times. They caught three of them for an unreal 143 yards and two touchdowns. They added 382 yards and four touchdowns off of 42 carries on the ground.
The Spartans weren’t too shabby. They completed 15 of their 30 passes for 252 yards and one touchdown. They added 19 carries for 59 rushing yards and a touchdown.
Tooele’s defense was monstrous in this game. They snagged three interceptions and managed two fumble recoveries.
Defensively, Murray was only able to match the two fumble recoveries, and subsequently lost the turnover battle. However, they did add a blocked field goal to the stat sheet.
Tooele improves to 4-4 after this game, but might end up taking another loss this week, as they will be hosting Region Powerhouse Park City on Friday at 7 p.m.
Murray drops to 1-7 on the season, and has to play Stansbury, who is the favorite to win that game. They played last night and the Stallions picked up the 47-0 win that will be highlighted next week.
