The Stansbury Stallions hosted the Sky View Bobcats for their second-round match-up in the 4A Girls’ Soccer Playoffs. The game was an extremely well fought contest, which ended in a score of 1-0 in favor of the Stallions. The singular goal was scored by Jo Jo Sartori, her second goal of the season.

After the game, two Stallions, Seniors Abby Holdstock and Davian Dix, were available for comment. Their insight about the game and their outlook on the season was very impressive, in almost all senses of the word.

“Staying calm and composed was the hardest, and keeping your cool with all the excitement around the field,” Holdstock said about the game. “As well as playing the way you’ve been coached because once we step on the field we give everything we have and what we have been taught at practices.”

“Just putting in 100% effort,” Dix said about the key to the win. “I know that our coach talks a lot about how you have to be strong from the get-go, and… that’s what we did.”

“Jo Jo came in clutch with the goal,” Holdstock said about her team, “but the whole team as a whole just put their whole heart into the game and did the best we could.”

Overall, this game was closer than many anticipated, but the ultimate outcome was no surprise. The Stallions are ranked #2 in 4A, sporting a record of 16-2. Their next game will be on Thursday, October 12th at 4 PM against the 13-4 Mountain View Bruins.
