The #22 ranked University of Utah Women’s Basketball defeated #8 Colorado Buffaloes Women’s Basketball 77-76 at the Huntsman Center. The lady Utes jumped out to a quick 19-7 lead. Colorado fought back to within 9 at the end of the first quarter. Utah pushed their lead to 15 by the break. The second half started with Utah ahead 39-24. 

With 1:21 left in the third quarter, Jayln Sherrod made a jump shot to pull the Buffaloes within seven. Ines Vieira drove the lane and was fouled on her shot giving her 2 free throws. She made both. The score was 59-50 at this point. Scoring went back and forth and the Buffaloes were in a ten point deficit until four minutes left in the fourth quarter. That’s when Colorado turned up the pressure and took the lead 74-73 with 20 seconds left on the clock. 

Ines Vieira was fouled and made both of her free throws to put the Utes back on top 75-74. Aaronette Vonleh made a quick layup with 8 seconds left putting the Buffaloes back on top by a point 76-75. Dasia Young took the ball to the hoop for a last second layup as the buzzer sounded to win this important PAC-12 Conference matchup by a point.
