Clearfield Falcons
2024 overall and region record (11-15) (7-7)
Head coach: Kamie Hoggan
The Falcons are loaded with experience and talent for the 2025 season. They will be looking to break through after winning three of their last four regular season games and hosting a home playoff series last year. The Falcons would lose to the Wasatch Wasps in the playoffs, but this team is on the rise and ready for a winning season.
“The girls have a goal to have a winning record, so that’s what we will work towards every single day,” Head coach Kamie Hoggan said. “I see lots of young talent once again, along with maturity in our upperclassmen that will help positively lead this team.”
Standard-Examiner All-Area Second Team player Jenna Lloyd highlights the Falcons returners after finishing the 2024 season with 10 wins in the circle and a .500 batting average to lead the team. Lloyd also led the team in hits (36) and struck out 119 batters. Lloyd, a senior, is one of the most dominant players returning to Region 5 and has committed to continuing her education and playing softball at Dawson Community College after high school.
“Jenna Lloyd will be our senior and starting pitcher/lead off hitter,” coach Hoggan said. “She continues to be the heart and soul of this team.”

Jenna Lloyd
Joining Lloyd as returning starters are Region 5 honorable mention sophomores, third baseman/catcher Brynn Nicholls, and outfielder Addyson Haddock. Nicholls smacked three home runs and drove in a team-leading 32 runs last year. Her breakout game was two home runs, and nine runs batted against Viewmont in a 14-1 Falcons win. Haddock scored a team-high 24 runs and batted .361 last year.
The Falcons finished fourth in Region 5 last season and ranked 16th in the final 5A Max Preps rankings. This team works hard, plays for each other, and is ready for an outstanding season.
“Our strength will be our friendships and relationships with one another off the field,” coach Hoggan said. “When you love your teammates, it translates to on-the-field play. We have speed and better knowledge of the game.”
