The Clearfield Falcons softball team is heading to the super regionals of the UHSAA 2025 5A Softball Championship tournament after sweeping the Woods Cross Wildcats in two games. Senior Jenna Lloyd led the team with two complete-game shutouts and batting a perfect 6 for 6 at the plate.

Lloyd, the Falcons’ only senior, has had an outstanding season, leading the team in hitting and pitching. Leading the young Falcons into the super-regional round of the playoffs has been a fantastic ride for Lloyd.

“I think that because the team is so young, they just wanted to do good,” Lloyd said. “I think I realized because it’s my last season, I need to do my best because this is it, I have to leave it all out there. I think I’ve enjoyed the most seeing a new team and playing with new girls and building new bonds like with my catcher, I never expected to have a bunch of younger girls come in and be able to play like they do. I was blessed to have a team like this in my senior year.”

Game 2

In the second game, the Falcons came out strong, scoring three runs in the first and second innings to take an early 6-0 lead. Once again, Lloyd dominated in the circle and at the plate. Freshman catcher Alexandra Bingham knocked in four runs to lead the Falcons. This victory marked the Falcons’ fourth win over the Wildcats this season.
