Box Elder Bees
2024 Record: Overall 2–21 | Region 1–13
Head Coach: Brooke Bown
The Box Elder Bees girls’ basketball team isn’t rebuilding, they’re redefining. After a challenging 2–21 season, the Bees return with a renewed identity, anchored in resilience, chemistry, and a commitment to something bigger than the game: belief in each other.
The 2025–26 season marks a new chapter for the Bees, one defined not by past struggles but by a renewed spirit and a team-first mindset. Head Coach Brooke Bown returns with a clear vision: foster a culture of positivity, resilience, and trust.
“We’ve talked about finding a new identity and trusting us to have their best interests at heart,” Coach Bown said. “They know that nothing will be given; it will take hard work, a willingness to relearn some things, and a commitment to creating a positive mindset and environment.”
Coach Bown’s coaching philosophy centers on achieving excellence through growth, accountability, and a strong basketball culture. That foundation is already shaping the team’s approach to practice, competition, and leadership.

Ava Miles
When asked about her team’s strengths this season, Coach Bown didn’t hesitate: quickness, defensive grit, and chemistry. Those traits will be key as the Bees look to disrupt opponents and build momentum.
Senior Emma Nelson will be a cornerstone of Box Elder’s transformation. A multi-sport standout and the starting goalkeeper on the soccer team, Nelson brings elite athleticism, competitive fire, and leadership to the court. She averaged 8.4 points and a team-leading 4.9 rebounds last season, but her impact goes far beyond the stat sheet. Her poise under pressure and voice in the huddle will be vital for the Bees.
Juniors Kenzie Jeffries and Ava Miles are expected to make a significant impact on both ends of the floor. Jeffries brings defensive tenacity, while Miles adds scoring punch and court vision. Together, they form a dynamic duo ready to elevate the Bees’ tempo and toughness.
Seniors Halli Wright, Ellie Young, Ariana Poll, Lindsay Bott, and CoCo Jensen will have important roles throughout the season for the Bees.
Coach Bown also sees promise in a talented sophomore class that’s hungry to contribute. With a retooled roster and a hunger to improve, the Bees are focused on fundamentals, chemistry, and daily growth.
Every practice is a step forward. Every game is a chance to show who they’re becoming. The scoreboard may not always reflect their progress, but the Bees are chasing something deeper—belief, unity, and the pride of rewriting their story.

Marley Barber
Expect Box Elder to bring energy, grit, and heart to the court this season. Whether it’s diving for loose balls or celebrating small victories, this group is ready to challenge opponents and redefine what it means to be a Bee.
“We are excited to get started and have a positive impact in building girls’ basketball in our community,” Coach Bown said. “We hope to have the support of the students and the community as we do so.”
