2024 Record: Overall 5–19 | Region 1–13
Head Coach: Johnny Caine
After a season defined by growing pains, the Bonneville Lakers enter 2025 with something rare in high school basketball: continuity. Every player from last year’s roster is back, bringing not just experience but also a collective determination to rewrite the narrative. With a blend of seasoned seniors and rising juniors, the Lakers believe their struggles have forged the chemistry needed to turn close losses into statement wins.
More importantly, they return with sharpened skills, deeper confidence, and a shared belief that this year can be different. From defensive toughness to perimeter shooting, Bonneville now boasts a roster that not only knows each other’s tendencies but thrives on them. The Lakers are no longer just a team learning how to compete; they’re a team ready to prove they belong among the 5A’s most formidable contenders.

Baja Jiminez
Lakers to watch
- Baja Jiminez (Jr., Guard) – The heartbeat of this team. Jiminez led Bonneville in every major statistical category last season, averaging 11.6 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3.3 steals per game. Her toughness and versatility make her a matchup nightmare and a natural leader on the court. Region 5 is loaded with excellent point guards, and Jiminez belongs right there at the top of that conversation.
- Charity McDonald (Sr., Guard) – McDonald is Bonneville’s floor spacer and momentum-shifter. With 46 three-pointers last season (11th in 5A), she can stretch defenses and punish opponents who sag inside. Beyond her shooting, McDonald brings poise and senior leadership. She’s the player who can calm the offense when possessions get chaotic. Her confidence from deep forces opponents to pick their poison: collapse on Jiminez’s drives or risk McDonald catching fire from beyond the arc. In close games, her shooting touch could be the difference-maker.
- Adisyn Stone (Sr., Forward) – A gritty presence in the paint, Stone averaged 7 points and 6.5 rebounds last year. Her toughness gives Bonneville balance, ensuring they aren’t just a perimeter-oriented team. As a senior, Stone’s experience and willingness to battle inside will be crucial in turning second-chance opportunities into points and protecting the rim against bigger opponents.

Ema Eskelsen
Supporting cast
Bonneville’s depth is anchored by a group that knows the system and brings grit to every possession. Ema Eskelsen, a steady guard, chipped in 4.3 points and 4.6 rebounds per game last season, often doing the dirty work that doesn’t show up on the stat sheet. Junior Mylie Miera adds poise and perimeter defense, contributing 3 points per game while keeping the offense organized. Senior Stacy Tesch, one of the team’s top defenders, averaged 5 rebounds and consistently disrupted opposing scorers with her physicality and court awareness.
Junior Madilynn DeGroot gives the Lakers a reliable inside presence. She’s not just a rebounder—her ability to set hard, purposeful screens opens up Bonneville’s offense and gives guards room to operate. Together, this supporting cast forms the backbone of a team determined to flip the script.
Season outlook
Bonneville’s path won’t be easy in a competitive Region 5, but with a roster that knows the grind and leaders ready to elevate their game, the Lakers are positioned to surprise. If they can translate experience into execution, 2025 could mark the beginning of a new chapter for the program—one built on resilience, chemistry, and belief.
