Fremont Silverwolves

2024 Record: Overall (21-4) | Region (8-2)

Head Coach: Lisa Dalebout

The Fremont Silverwolves enter the 2025–26 season with a fresh challenge and familiar expectations. After years of competing in Region 1, the Silverwolves now move into Region 5, where local rivalries and familiar faces promise to bring new energy to every matchup. Head Coach Lisa Dalebout, returning for her 23rd season, has built a program defined by consistency and toughness. With 13 straight winning seasons and three state championships under her leadership, Dalebout’s squad is once again poised to contend for a title.

Last season, Fremont tallied 21 wins in 6A and advanced to the quarterfinals. Now, with a loaded roster of returners, the Silverwolves are aiming to claim the top spot in the 5A classification.

Olivia Surrage

Christensen and Surrage: Dynamic junior leaders

The Silverwolves’ strength begins with their junior duo: Abby Christensen and Olivia Surrage. Christensen, a Deseret News 6A First Team All-State selection, averaged 16.5 points per game last season and brings a rare combination of size, ball-handling, and scoring versatility. At 6’2″, she can shoot off the dribble, finish through contact, and control the tempo.

Surrage, named Deseret News All-State Honorable Mention, led Fremont with 6.5 rebounds per game. Known for her defensive tenacity and emotional leadership, she sets the tone with relentless energy. Coach Dalebout praised their impact:

“Abby and Olivia set the tone for us on both ends of the floor,” Coach Dalebout said. “They lead by example, but even more importantly, they bring consistency and confidence that the younger players can follow.”

Mia McArthur

Depth in the backcourt

Fremont’s guard play will be another strength. Juniors Mia McArthur, Daphnie Moyes, Brynn Wadman, and Jersie Slater headline an experienced backcourt that has invested heavily in offseason development. Dalebout highlighted their growth:

“Our junior guards have invested tremendous effort in the offseason, and their growth is already showing,” Coach Dalebout said. “Their scoring ability adds depth and strength, while their defensive intensity allows us to pressure opponents and set the tone for our team’s energy.”

This balance of offensive firepower and defensive grit gives Fremont versatility across the floor.

Frontcourt presence

The Silverwolves also return senior forwards Maya Jensen and Lily Hall, adding experience and toughness to the paint. Combined with Christensen and Surrage, Fremont boasts one of the strongest frontcourts in the state.

Coach Dalebout emphasized the team’s strategy:

“We plan to take advantage of our strong inside presence to open up the floor and create balance in our offense. By establishing a threat in the paint, we can spread defenses and open opportunities for diverse scoring strategies.”

Mental and physical toughness

Dalebout’s teams have long been known for their resilience. The Silverwolves lost only one road game last season, a testament to their preparation.

“We put a big emphasis on routine and mindset,” Coach Dalebout said. “Whether it’s home or away, the expectation is the same: play our style, play together, and stay focused.”

That consistency, paired with a culture of accountability and effort, continues to define Fremont basketball.

“We stress effort, accountability, and resilience from day one. We focus on competing every day in practice, doing the little things, and trusting each other.”

Season outlook

While the Silverwolves are clear favorites for the Region 5 title and a deep playoff run, Coach Dalebout keeps the focus on growth:

“Our team goals remain the same as they always have: to grow together, strengthen our unity, and continue building skills both on and off the court,” Coach Dalebout said. “While we set our sights on competing for a region and state title, our focus extends beyond wins and losses.”

With Christensen and Surrage leading the charge, a deep backcourt, and a formidable frontcourt, Fremont enters Region 5 as one of the most balanced and battle-tested teams in the state. Dalebout’s program has thrived on toughness, preparation, and pride — and this season, the Silverwolves look ready to carry that tradition into a new era.
