The Clearfield Falcons delivered their most complete performance of the season Tuesday night, halting a four-game losing streak with an emphatic 80–35 home victory over the Hunter Wolverines. The win marked Clearfield’s second of the season, while Hunter fell to 0–8.

Opening surge sets the tone

The Falcons wasted no time asserting control, opening the game on a blistering 12–0 run. Senior guard Alyric Kelley poured in nine points in the first quarter, helping Clearfield build a commanding 21–5 lead. Junior guard Michael Lam gave Hunter a spark with a late three-pointer, but the Falcons still held the momentum.

In the second quarter, junior guard Elijah Dankwa caught fire, scoring eight points, including two three-pointers. Senior Bode Davis added steady scoring, and Clearfield’s teamwork and defense carried them to a 38–13 halftime advantage.

The Falcons’ ability to share the ball and convert open looks highlighted their offensive rhythm, while their defensive quickness kept Hunter from finding any consistency.

The third quarter belonged to Davis. The 6-foot-6 senior put on a mid-range clinic, scoring 13 points in the frame, most from around 15 feet. His rhythm and confidence pushed the Falcons’ lead to 63–24 heading into the final period, leaving the Wolverines unable to match Clearfield’s energy.

With the game well in hand, the Falcons continued to share the ball and execute. Junior Luke Evans poured in seven points in the fourth quarter as Clearfield outscored Hunter 17–11 to seal the victory.

Davis finished with a game-high 23 points, while Kelley added 14 and Dankwa chipped in 13. The balanced scoring shows the Falcons’ depth and commitment to team play.

Wolverines’ effort

Despite the lopsided score, Hunter showed determination throughout the contest. Junior Noah Francom led the Wolverines with 11 points, battling to keep his team engaged.

Contributions from Yussuf Duro, Peyton Hendricksen, and Lam added to Hunter’s effort, though the Wolverines struggled to match Clearfield’s defensive intensity and rebounding dominance.

Game summary

From the opening tip, Clearfield brought energy and desire on defense and never looked back. A determined effort to jump out early on the Wolverines proved key, as the Falcons combined sharp shooting, rebounding dominance, and relentless defensive pressure for a statement win.

Looking ahead

For Clearfield, the victory was more than just a number in the standings; it was a statement of effort and teamwork from the entire team. The Falcons will look to carry this momentum into their next matchup on the road against Granger on December 19, 2025. Hunter, still searching for its first win of the season, will aim to regroup and break through when it travels to face Summit Academy the same night.
