2025 record: Overall (16-10) Region (11-4)

Head Coach: Kamie Hoggan – 4th year

When Head Coach Kamie Hoggan first arrived at Clearfield High School, the softball program had seen five coaches in five years.

“I had to instill structure and rules, expectations, respect and a teammate mindset,” Coach Hoggan said. “What I feel it is to be a Falcon. Have some pride in putting on that jersey with that name. It took a couple years for them to buy in, but now they respect the process. They see the payoff of sacrifice and the beauty of what sports can teach and leave them. They work hard. They love each other. They want to do good for each other. They cheer each other on. It’s beautiful. Not always about winning (even though it’s fun), it’s about improving, giving it your all every day, making memories and friendships that last a lifetime. Go Falcons!”

The Clearfield Falcons enter the 2026 season with momentum, experience, and a growing belief that this could be the year they break through in Region 5. Coach Hoggan, now in her fourth season at the helm, has steadily elevated the program each spring. After win totals of 3, 11, and 16 over the past three years, the Falcons have built a foundation of toughness and talent, and they return nearly the entire roster from last season’s surge.

Clearfield did lose 2025 All‑State standout Jenna Lloyd to graduation, whose presence in the circle and at the plate anchored the Falcons. But with the rest of the lineup returning, and a wave of young stars ready to take another leap, the Falcons look poised to contend for the Region 5 title.

Lilly Lara

Junior core ready to lead

Though still a young team with just one senior on the roster, Clearfield’s returning juniors bring experience far beyond their years. Addyson Haddock, Lilly Lara, and Brynn Nicholls have each played more than 50 career games and form the backbone of a lineup that can score in bunches.

Haddock returns as one of the region’s most dangerous hitters after batting .424 last season with a team‑best .557 on‑base percentage. Her ability to set the tone at the plate makes her one of Clearfield’s most valuable pieces. Haddock received All-Region 5 Honorable Mention honors last year.

Lara, who received All-Region 5 Honorable Mention honors last year, enters her third year as the starting second baseman and continues to grow into a reliable offensive threat. She hit .344 last season and brings steady defense and leadership to the middle infield.

Nicholls has been a model of consistency at first and third base, carrying a .307 career average and providing the kind of calm, veteran presence every team needs in tight games. Nicholls received All-Region 5 Honorable Mention honors in 2025.

Together, the junior trio gives Clearfield a proven, battle‑tested core capable of carrying the Falcons through the grind of region play.

Ally Bingham

Sophomore class loaded with star power

If the juniors are the foundation, the sophomore class is the spark that could push Clearfield into the upper tier of Region 5.

Ally Bingham, named to the 2025 Standard‑Examiner All‑Area Second Team, led the Falcons with 35 RBIs and showed poise behind the plate well beyond her age.

Skylar Davis, a dynamic shortstop with elite speed and range, earned 2025 Standard-Examiner All‑Area Third Team and enters 2026 with confidence and momentum. Her athleticism makes her a threat every time she steps on the field. Davis made an immediate impact as a freshman in her first varsity game by going 3-for-5 with 3 runs scored in an opening season win over Weber.

Emma Dishongh adds a left‑handed bat with legitimate power potential, giving Clearfield another run‑producing option in the heart of the order. Dishongh displayed her talents in the postseason tournament, going 2-for-3 with 3 RBI in a game against Olympus.

Lyla Leonhardt is a First Team All-Region 5 player and one of the most athletic players in the state. Leonhardt hit .432 as a freshman and delivered one of the Falcons’ biggest moments of the year with a home run in the state tournament against Olympus.

Abbie Hale played in all 26 games last season and had a breakout performance in the playoffs against Olympus, going 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs and a triple. Hale’s emergence adds another potent bat and reliable glove to the Falcons’ infield mix.

This sophomore group is talented, fearless, and already proven, a rare combination that gives Clearfield enviable depth.

Emerging leaders and new talent

Coach Hoggan praised the leadership and skill of her players: “Lilly Lara is ready to lead this team with her high softball IQ. Skylar Davis takes command on the field. Bingham’s (Alexandra Bingham, but we all call her Bingham) quiet and calm demeanor speaks loud behind the plate and in the box. Lyla Leonhardt is going to be a brute on both sides of the ball along with her knowledge of the game.”

The Falcons also have a promising freshman pitcher named Hannah Hensley, who Coach Hoggan says is “young, but ready for the task” in the circle.

“Tough mentality, hard work physically, giving it your all every single day, being on time every day, working on in the classroom transfers to working hard on the field,” Coach Hoggan said. “Having tough practices and having them set goals to achieve each and every day.”

The underclassmen make up the majority of the team, but look for seniors Teaghan McNabb and Stormy Williams to provide stability and depth.

This blend of emerging talent and strong leadership sets the stage for Clearfield’s continued rise in Region 5 competition.
