Jazz 2020 Game #52 Review

Game Ball goes to: “Big Shot” Bojan Bogdanovic!

Why? Although he struggled in this game, he scored the game winning three in only his second made field goal of the night. If you watch the play closely you see Donovan is being held up. Even though he is the go to guy the Jazz won’t pass up an open shot to a sniper like Bojan.

The Bosnian stretch four has already made one game winner this year vs the Milwaukee Bucks. He now adds a road warrior walk off three to his resume.

He shot 2 for 5 from beyond the arc which isn’t bad even though his three point percentage is 42 percent. Overall he was 2-7 from the field and 2-2 from the charity stripe. His four assists were great but with just two boards he did prove he has weaknesses just like everyone else.

He was a team worst minus 11 in his 32 minutes on the floor but he was plus three in the final second which is what counts most. He is doing what the Jazz brought him to Utah to do.

It will make your night if you’re a Jazz fan. If you’re a Rockets fan maybe go for a walk. Somehow Houston beat the Jazz in Utah with just seven players but couldn’t beat them in Houston with their two All-Stars in Russell Westbrook and James Harden. They both combined for 67 points. The rest of the Rockets scored 46 points. Conley and Donovan nearly outscored the rest of the Rockets by themselves with 44 points together in the backcourt.

Other players of note:

Jordan Clarkson led the Jazz in scoring with 30 points off the bench. He has been a huge catalyst for the second unit. Donovan Mitchell and Mike Conley were also impressive in the Jazz backcourt with 24 and 20 points respectively. Rudy Gobert led on the boards with 15 rebounds. Joe Ingles led the Jazz in assists by dropping 7 dimes. Royce O’Neale had a block party unlike anything we’ve seen from him in recent memory with 3 swats.

Lastly don’t forget to give some love to Juwan Morgan! After emerging into a star on the Salt Lake City Stars he recently started getting minutes on the “varsity” Utah Jazz squad. The Jazz were plus 11 points in his seven minutes on the floor. He had four points and three boards.
