Jazz Recap: Utah on Fire in Game 3 vs. Nuggets

by Elmer Mejia | Game 3 of the Utah Jazz vs Denver Nuggets took place today in Orlando. The Vivint Smart Home Arena would have been loud, energetic, and pumped for the first home game of the playoffs. 

The Jazz welcomed back Mike Conley who played the first five minutes. Joe Ingles started off great by giving two alley oops one to Mitchell and one to Gobert. Gobert got some quick points and was playing great defense as well. He had 12 points and 8 rebounds to direct the Jazz to a quick healthy lead. Jamal Murray was also to a quick start for the Nuggets and looked to have another big game. The Jazz took the quarter 25-14. 

In the second quarter, the Jazz played great basketball. Once again, the Jazz looked spectacular. Hitting three’s and defending well. It was just another great quarter for the Jazz as they led 59-42.

As the third quarter started, the Jazz dominated the Nuggets. They outscored them 35-20. Gobert, Mitchell, and Conley were brilliant. The Jazz seemed unstoppable and were a scoring machine. Mitchell, Gobert and Conley were just having fun in the court. The Nuggets couldn’t stop the artillery of the Jazz. They led 94-62 to end the quarter. 

The fourth quarter started with the Jazz having the luxury to sit out their starters as they had a 32 point lead. The Nuggets also benched their starters as they were blown in just three quarters. The Jazz went on to win the game 124-87.

On his return, Mike Conley scored 27 points and had a career playoff high of made three’s. He made 7 out of 8 and played 25 minutes. Gobert had a monster game with 24 points and 14 rebounds in just 32 minutes. Mitchell had 20 points, Niang had 16, and Clarkson had 11. 

If the Jazz keep playing like this they will win this series quickly. Next game is Sunday night at 7pm MST on TNT. 

Wow, what a performance from the Jazz! Game 4 looks very promising for the Utah Jazz.
