Just three BYU sports were in action on a consistent basis last week, with one team reaching the end of their season.
Baseball
It was a mixed week for the baseball team. They started with a win and two losses against San Diego before handling UVU 7-0.
Next Up: BYU heads to San Francisco for one game each day from Thursday-Saturday this week. All three start at 2:00 p.m. MT with a broadcast on BYU Radio.
Softball
Softball was the most successful of the three sports this week as they finished a perfect 6-0. They picked up three in-state victories in games against UVU, Dixie State and SUU to complement a sweep of San Diego. BYU’s best win was a 12-0 thumping of SUU, which ended after just five innings due to the mercy rule.
Next Up: Santa Clara comes to Provo on Friday and Saturday for a three-game series, all of which will be available on BYUtv.
Men’s Volleyball
The season came to an end with a five-set loss to Pepperdine in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Tournament last week. After losing the first two sets, BYU fought back to take sets 3 and 4. Unfortunately, they were unable to finish the comeback, dropping set five 16-14. The Cougars’ 8-17 record this season is not enough for an at-large berth in the NCAA Tournament.
