Trent Jones plays football for the Stansbury Stallions. After their 43-20 statement win over Ridgeline, I got to talk to Jones about himself and the football team. Here’s what the Linebacker/Receiver combo had to say:

How long have you been playing football?

“I’ve been playing since I was eight years old,” Jones said.

Why did you choose your position?

“I play inside Linebacker and Slot Receiver,” Jones answered. “I started playing these positions mostly because of my size ability.”

How long have you been playing varsity for the Stallions?

“This year is my first year as a starter,” Jones replied. “but last year I was second string.”

How do you feel you performed individually against the Riverhawks?

“I feel like I played pretty well,” Jones stated. “I contributed to our win both on offense and defense.”

How did the team do against Ridgeline?

“We definitely didn’t play our best football,” Jones said. “We were scrappy the whole game and didn’t let the little setbacks affect us.

How do you feel about the team’s potential moving forward?

“I think we’re going to be really successful,” Jones started. “If we can just improve week to week and keep up the high focus and energy every day at practice.”

Trent Jones is very excited to see what his team can do this season. The Stallions have a long way to go before they reach their potential. Until then, Stansbury will be squaring off against the Skyline Grizzlies on August 26th at 8 PM in Rexburg, Idaho.
