After maintaining their top-25 ranking during their bye week, Utah is looking to move up in ranks as they travel to face Washington State on Thursday.
Utah’s current record is 5-2 (3-1 in PAC-12) still gives them the opportunity to reach the Rose Bowl for the second year in a row. With Cam Rising at quarterback, ranked in the top-20 in QBR* (161.5), Utah is going in with an electric offense. Utah may struggle against a surging Washington State defense.
Washington State (4-3; 1-3 in PAC-12) currently has the number one ranked defense in the PAC-12 for points allowed (20.7 PPG.) Though their defense has some eye-popping numbers, Washington State’s offense is ranked in the bottom three in the PAC-12 in PPG (24.6.)
Thursday night’s game will be Washington State’s third time facing a ranked opponent this season (Week 2 @ 19 Wisconsin, Week 4 vs 15 Oregon, and Week 6 @ 6 USC.)
