ST GEORGE, Utah — Utah Tech was determined to not have a repeat of the beatdown they were handed three weeks ago in Cedar City. For three quarters, this was a thrilling game. However, things fell apart for the Trailblazers in the 4th quarter. SUU faced a 36-45 deficit with three minutes to go in the third quarter. From there, the Thunderbirds closed the game on a 26-6 run and outscored the Trailblazers 17-2 in the final frame. For at least six more days, SUU will remain the lone undefeated team in WAC play.

Liz and Jensen Shine

On a night when Utah Tech sold out to defend Cherita Daugherty, which worked as they held her to only 6 points, two players put the team on their back when it mattered most. Lizzy Willamson and Megan Jensen put together a 35-point effort as the only Thunderbirds to hit double figures. Breaunna Gillen got redemption after being limited to 10 points in the first meeting. She had 18 for the Trailblazers in this meeting but was the only one to score in double figures.
