Girl’s sprint events

Fremont High School senior Amare Harlan won the 100m event in 11.78. Harlan has dominated the 100m event in the state and has won the event at the state championship meet in the last two years. Harlan’s teammate, senior Megan Wood, finished second in 13.22. Harlan captured the win in the 400m event in 56.94. Her time is the third-best in the state this season. Weber High School junior Annalise Ririe finished second with a personal best time of 58.98. If Harlan competes in her usual 100m and 200m events at the Region 1 championship, Ririe will be the favorite to win the 400m event.
With Harlan not running the 200m event, Ririe won the race in her season-best time of 26.35. Wood finished in second place in her season-best time of 26.80. The 3rd-5th place finishers were from Weber, freshman Sadie Fletcher (27.42), Isabelle Ririe (27.66), and junior Halie Weston (28.09).
Boy’s sprint events

Roy High School senior Colby Anderson won the 100m event in 10.96. Second place was Grantsville High School senior Parker Williams in a personal best time of 11.07. Anderson’s teammate, junior Cole West, crossed the line in third with a personal best time of 11.29.
Williams won the 200m event in another personal best time of 22.55. Noah Austin of Fremont was second in a personal best time of 23.16. Clearfield High School senior Morgan Randall finished in third place in 23.34.
Clearfield seniors Cade Cannon and Randall finished 1-2 in the 400m event. Cannon’s winning time was 51.66, and Randall crossed the line with a personal best of 51.79. Fremont junior Roderick Richards III finished in third place in 52.96.
Girl’s hurdle events
The girl’s 100mh event saw the state’s top hurdler Weber’s Eden DeVries, win in a time of 14.54. Ogden High School senior Brinley Beus finished second in 16.10, and teammate Madelyn Girardo was third in a personal best time of 16.88.
DeVries completed the double hurdle events winner by capturing the 300mh title in 46.94. Clearfield High School freshman Lillian Weaver was second in 49.28. Finishing third was Fremont senior Charlee Ortgiesen in 49.30.
Boy’s hurdle events

The boy’s 110mh event saw Layton Christian Academy senior Malik Johnson win in 14.97. Johnson has signed with Weber State University and is ranked number one in 3A this season. Weber freshman Joshua Hamblin was second in a personal best of 15.28. Hamblin is now the top-ranked 110mH in Region 1. Third place was Fremont junior Brody Clark, in a personal best of 16.34. Clark has been coming on strong and is one to watch in the Region 1 championship.
Johnson completed the double in the hurdles by winning the 300mh event in 40.55. Hamblin was second in 41.10, and Roy senior Brendan Bailey finished third in 42.46. Bailey’s time is the top mark in Region 2 and is the early favorite to win the event.

Fremont senior Laynee Rowley easily won the 800m event in a time of 2:27.21. Ogden High School had the 2nd and 3rd place finishers in sophomore Isabella Gray and senior Madelyn Girardo. Gray finished at 2:31.68, and Girardo’s time was 2:32.62. Kaitlyn Blackham of Ogden won the 1600m event in 5:24.53. Weber junior Eden Burton was second in 5:28.47. Blackham also won the 3200m event in 11:53.55. Bonneville High School sophomore Nicole Wayment was second in 12:11.37, and in third place was Ogden sophomore Berlin Bartlett in 12:36.31.

Weber senior Landon Hart won the 1600m easily event in 4:31.71. Fremont senior Asher Bowen was second in 4:40.25. Finishing third in the event was Bonneville junior Anthony Gonzalez in 4:45.68. Hart also claimed the 3200m event in a time of 9:51.55. Ogden runners placed second and third in the 3200m with senior Jack Blodgett (10:16.24) and senior Thomas Stark (10:25.45). Roy senior Regan Gibby won the 800m event in 2:00.31., a Region 2 top time in the event. Weber sophomore Garrison Johnson was second in 2:02.73, and third place went to Ogden junior Colton Scharman in 2:04.39.
Girl’s field events

Weber sophomore Leah Yoggerst won the long jump event with a personal best jump of 16’6.25″. Saint Joseph Catholic High School senior Sarah Snell took home first place in the javelin event with a throw of 124’1″. Weber senior Camrie DeLuna won the discus event with a throw of 90’06”. Grantsville senior Kadence Byrd won the shot-put event with a throw of 29’9″. Weber junior Cami Cvitkovich won the high jump event clearing a height of 5’6″.
Boy’s field events
Hamblin of Weber won the long jump event with an outstanding mark of 22’2.75″. He is the number one long jumper in Region 1 and is ranked fifth in the state. Ogden’s senior Chet Colvin finished second with a jump of 21’2″. Roy sophomore Robert Young was third with a leap of 20’7″. Young has the third-best jump in Region 2. Ogden senior Braxten Shobe won the discus event with a throw of 130’7″. Shobe also won the shot-put event with a throw of 45’5″. The high jump event was won by Weber sophomore Brandon Crockett clearing a height of 6’0″. Tooele High School sophomore Jacob Proctor won the javelin event with a throw of 140’5″. Roy junior Cove Rodriguez placed second with a personal best throw of 138’5″. Rodriguez’s throw is number one in Region 2, and he is an early favorite to win the region title.
