The Weber State Wildcats capped off their season with a trip to the NCAA tournament to face off against #7 Stanford. WSU lost their tournament bout 4-0 in California, but exit this season with a lot to celebrate as Big Sky champions. Coming into the season as the second-ranked team in the conference, the Wildcats had a tall mountain to climb to overcome Northern Arizona, but they displayed their resilience en route to a title season.
Weber State at #7 Stanford 0-4
Weber State knew coming into the NCAA Tournament that facing one of the nation’s premier rosters would be a tough task. This matchup wouldn’t be the same as they’ve had over the past couple of months, as Stanford is on a different level than WSU’s usual competition. The Wildcats did what they could to compete, and they served Ogden proud.
Doubles
Stanford dominated in doubles play, taking each of the first two sets 6-1. Kenadee Semenik and Sicely Ferreira were left unfinished but were very much alive in their duel, the score at a tight 4-3 before it was called. The loss put Weber State at an early 1-0 deficit.
- Angelica Blake/Alexis Blokhina (SU) beat Ana Morett/Megan Davies (WSU) 6-1
- Emma Sun/Alexandra Yepifanova (SU) beat Dylan Lolofie/Megan Lombardi (WSU) 6-1
- Connie Ma/Valencia Xu (SU) unfinished Kenadee Semenik/Sicely Ferreira (WSU) 4-3
Order of Finish (1, 2)

Singles play didn’t last long for Weber State either as Stanford handily took the first three matches to close out their victory. Unfortunately, no Wildcat took a set against the Cardinal, with each of the unfinished matches close to concluded in favor of Stanford.
