Young Aggies face Cougars

According to Utah State University’s press release, the Lady Aggies currently have the youngest starting lineup in the nation. They start three freshmen and two sophomores. These young girls will grow up a lot tonight when they play the not so young Cougars at Brigham Young University.

The Lady Aggies are on the wrong end of this lopsided rivalry as they haven’t defeated the Cougars in women’s basketball since December 7th, 1978. Since then, the Aggie men have had their moments beating BYU in football and basketball.

It appears though that so far this year, this one’s for the girls. The Aggies defeated Utah Valley University with a score of 56-45 to prove that they still have the upper hand in an in-state rivalry. The Lady Aggies now lead the series vs The She Wolf pack 8-3.

BYU is well rested as this is their only game they will have played this week. This could be good for their legs to have plenty of rest but it could have an adverse affect on their shooting touch.

The key matchup of the night will be the seasoned Cougar junior guard Cassie Broadhead (15.2 points per game) vs. the slightly younger sophomore guard Rachel Brewster (14.4 points per game). In this game the Aggies have to play like they have all the experience in the world.

It’s important to play old when you’re competing against Brigham Young.
