Game Ball goes to: Jordan “6th Man” Clarkson!
Why? Honestly he would have been a lock for the game ball last game had it not been for Bojan’s heroic game winning three. He has been on an absolute tear lately though as he totaled 55 points in his two night stay in the Lone Star State.
He had a game high 25 points tonight against the Dallas Mavericks. He is shooting way above average inside this year and looks like he is shooting into the ocean from any spot on the floor. He also had 5 rebounds and 8 assists which showed he was willing to do more than just score. He tied Joe Ingles for most assists in the game and had more rebounds than anyone not named Rudy Gobert or Tony Bradley. What a game for Clarkson who has been a huge part of the success the Jazz have had this season.
This was a game of runs and the Jazz, who led by as much as 23, let Dallas come within 3 with 4:41 left in the third quarter. The Jazz quickly opened the lead back to double digits before allowing the Mavs to make a final “too little too late” comeback. The result was a 123-119 win for the Jazz that wasn’t as close as the final score indicated.
Other players of Note:
Rudy Gobert recorded his fourth straight double double with 17 points and 16 rebounds. His best play was a monster dunk in the fourth quarter. Bojan and Donovan weren’t too far off Clarkson with 23 points each. It was imperative that those starters score a lot especially with Conley resting his knee on the back to back.
The Jazz only went 9 deep tonight so there weren’t a lot of honorable mentions tonight. Mudiay was exceptional with his unorthodox gallops to the basket. He chipped in 12 points and was the only other bench player and one of the five Jazz players to score in double figures.
