by Elmer Mejia | The second Utah Jazz game of the NBA restart was against the Oklahoma City Thunder Saturday. The Jazz started off slow by only scoring 15 points in the first quarter. They struggled to find any rhythm.
In the second quarter they picked up the slack and scored 27 points. However, they still couldn’t stop Chris Paul and the Thunder. The Jazz were ice cold from deep just netting in 3 for 16 from three. The top scorer was Mitchell with 9 points. The Jazz went into halftime with a 66-42 deficit.
In the start of the second half, the Thunder continued to dominate the game. Paul and company couldn’t be stopped. Even with a Jazz 9-0 run, the Thunder maintained a large lead of 86-62 at the end of the third quarter.
The last quarter was a continuation of the previous three. The Jazz started off slow and couldn’t find the net from the three point line. Quin Snyder kept pushing his team to rally up a comeback but just couldn’t. The team couldn’t make a shot from three and were outscored by the Thunder.
The slow first quarter start harmed the Jazz as they trailed throughout the rest of the game. Today’s game was not the result the Jazz wanted. With this 110-94 loss, the Jazz record is now 42-24. The Jazz couldn’t capitalize on the Nuggets loss earlier to catch up to them for the third spot. The Houston Rockets are dangerously catching up to them in the Western Conference standings.
It is time for the Utah Jazz to regroup and get ready for the next game on Monday against the Lakers.
