Rather than sticking to the recent awards show format, the NBA is announcing its end of season awards individually during the postseason action. So far, the Kia Defensive Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Sixth Man of the Year, Most Improved Player of the Year and Coach of the Year have been announced. The NBA has also announced the All-Defensive First and Second Teams and the All-Rookie First and Second Teams.
