Daily Dribble: Recap of Utah Jazz Dominant win over Rockets

The Utah Jazz defeated the Houston Rockets 122-91.

The Crossover: Utah Jazz by the numbers

The Jazz shot 41-85 from the field (48.2 percent). They also made 16-46 from three (34.8 percent) and 24-30 (80 percent) from the charity stripe.

Offensively, Utah played better than Houston. The Jazz kept the pace at a high speed. When the Rockets scored, the Jazz quickly scored right after them. In the first quarter alone, the Jazz shot 62.3 percent from the field. By halftime, the Jazz had led by as many as 36 points and held a 61-40 advantage going into the break.

Utah outshined Houston in most categories. The Jazz outscored the Rockets in the paint as well, scoring 46 points compared to 40 points from the home team. Utah also managed to rebound better with a 58 to 41 advantage on the glass. Ten of those rebounds were on the offensive end.

The Rockets shot 31-95 (32.6 percent) from the field, 9-44 (20.5 percent) from beyond the arc, and 20-23 (87 percent) from the free throw line.

Defensively, both teams managed to get eight steals, but constantly turned the ball over. The Jazz turned the ball over 16 times, while the Rockets had 11 giveaways of their own. Utah had the number 13 most turnovers last year (1,023) compared to every team in the league.

The Gobert Double Dribble: Double Double Watch

Once again, Rudy Gobert had a double-double with 16 points and 14 rebounds. Bojan Bogdanovic led the team in points with 19 points while Jordan Clarkson had 16 points.

Traveling: Houston has modest stats in front of modest crowd

Houston forward Christian Wood led the Rockets with 16 points. Alperen Sengün had 14 points and rookie Jalen Green had 13 points. Jalen Green is favored to win the Rookie of the Year award along with other contenders in Cade Cunningham, Evan Mobley, Scottie Barnes, and Chris Duarte.

Kevin Porter Jr. suffered a left ankle sprain in the second quarter which resulted in him not playing the second half.
