Interview with Stansbury WR/SS Brock Wilson

Interview with Stansbury WR/SS Brock Wilson

Brock Wilson is a standout Receiver/Safety combo for the Stansbury Stallions. After the Stallion’s big 43-20 win over the Ridgeline Riverhawks, I talked with Brock Wilson about him and the football team. What he had to say is as follows:

Q: How long have you been playing football?

A: “I’ve been playing football ever since I was,” Wilson said. “Since I could remember, just playing at the park, and playing catch with my dad and siblings.”

Q: Why did you pick the positions you did?

A: “I used to play running back,” Wilson said. “That was the first position I ever loved playing. I was always practicing with Ezra [Harris] and Hammy [Dylan Hamilton] at Wide Receiver until I fell into the spot. Last year they needed a Wide Receiver, so I decided to switch positions.”

Q: How long have you been playing varsity?

A: “For two years now,” Wilson said. “I started when I was a Junior. I was going to go out my Sophomore year, but I got injured.”

Q: How did the team do against Ridgeline?

A: “I think we did really well,” Wilson said. “People were able to pick up for each other’s mistakes. It wasn’t one of our cleanest performances, but we were definitely able to make plays when they were needed, and execute when we needed to.”

Q: How are you feeling about the team’s upcoming game vs Skyline?

A: “It’s gonna be a long drive,” Wilson groaned. “I’m excited about it, and I think we’ll do well.”

Q: How do you feel about the team moving forward?

A: “I really like the players that we have… we have a lot of superstars on the team. We work well together. I think that we’ll keep getting better and better at each practice and game.”

Brock Wilson loves his team and is excited to see how they perform this season. Stansbury will have to continue improving as a team to become as good as they can be. Wilson and the rest of the Stallions are excited to go up to Idaho and play the Skyline Grizzlies on August 26th at 8 PM in Rexburg, Idaho.
